I have thus far completed two major projects and several secondary projects. The first major project was focused on whether and how human rights treaties affect human rights practices. This research was published in two articles in the American Journal of Political Science and one in International Organization. The second completed major project focused on the effects of indirect ties between states in the international system. This research was published in articles in International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Conflict Resolution, and Journal of Peace Research (x2). My completed secondary projects have been published in journals including American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, International Security, American Journal of International Law, International Studies Quarterly (x2), Journal of Conflict Resolution, and other journals. I am currently working on several projects. The first major project examines the conditions under which individuals approve of human rights abuses. The first paper from this project was published in the American Journal of Political Science. My co-author and I are currently working on additional papers, one of which has an R&R from Journal of Conflict Resolution. The second major project examines the role of information technology in human rights abuses. The first paper from this project was recently published in International Organization. Finally, I am working on online extremism in a collaboration with Neil Johnson that is described in more detail in R8.
