Dr. Rumana Riffat is Professor of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, and Associate Dean for Graduate Studies in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at George Washington University. Dr. Riffat's research interests are in sustainable wastewater treatment, specifically nutrient removal using partial denitrification-anammox PdNA process, anaerobic treatment of wastewater and biosolids, and high rate processes. She has been involved in a number of national and international research projects with EPA, DC Water, WRF and USAID.
