My research examines the creation and use of information in capital markets. Specifically, I investigate the usefulness of self generated proprietary information and the extent to which firms can protect their proprietary information. In addition, my research examines the usefulness of various types of information releases and information outlets to different types of investors. I incorporate my research in the classroom by emphasizing the link between financial information and stock prices through examples and the examination of informational events that happen during the semester and consequent market reactions .
