Dr. N. Sharon Hill is an associate professor of management at The George Washington University School of Business. Her research focuses teams and virtual/remote work where the use of technology replaces traditional face-to-face interaction. Her articles have appeared in such leading outlets as Academy of Management Annals, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Organization Science, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Management Studies, Leadership Quarterly, and Organizational Research Methods. Dr. Hill is on the Editorial Board of Organization Science and Personnel Psychology. She is also Representative-at-Large for the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management.
Dr. Hill teaches courses in organizational behavior, human resource management, leading teams, leading change, and virtual work. Her teaching includes courses at all levels: undergraduate, M.B.A., Ph.D. seminars, and executive education. Dr. Hill previously worked for multinational companies in the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, and the United States. Her global, cross-functional business experience includes roles in information technology, six sigma quality improvement, organizational change, as well as corporate training and development. She currently provides consulting and training to organizations in the areas of teamwork and organizational change.
Dr. Hill received her Ph.D. in Business and Management from the University of Maryland, College Park. She also holds an M.B.A. in International Business and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with German. Dr. Hill is a member of the Academy of Management, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, American Psychological Association, Interdisciplinary Network for Group Research, and Society for Human Resource Management.
