In my 4th year at GW, I worked on developing my education research skills by working on my Master's in Education. Through this degree, I learned about qualitative research and am currently working on a qualitative interview project to understand the student experience with prework. I've also started doing more research in the field of advising. As assistant director of our graduate program, I work with students on a daily basis with a goal of going to medical school. I had the opportunity to publish a book chapter that described postbaccalaureate programs and how undergraduate advisors can guide students to choose the right program for them. I am also finishing up my podcast project work. The majority of my research has been in medical education and advising but I've also been invited to provide background information in a study looking at genital hemangiomas. With my background in male development, they've asked me to provide our current knowledge in the development of blood supply to the male genitalia. Overall, my scholarly efforts have been difficult to maintain. I play a large role in the curriculum for many students which has been constantly changing since the COVID pandemic began.
