Thomas A. Mazzuchi, is Professor in the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the George Washington University. Professor Mazzuchi joined the George Washington University in 1985 and has served as Chairman of the Department of Operations Research from 1994 to 1997, as Interim Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science from 1997 to 2000, as Chairman for the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering from 2000-2012; 2014-2020 and Associate Director of the Online programs from 2001-present. He has also served as the sole Undergraduate Adviser for Systems Engineering from 2010-2020, a program he revamped and grew from an enrollment of 21 majors to its current enrollment of over 100 majors. The program has twice received ABET Accreditation without any shortfalls. He has received the EMSE Professor of the Year award 18 times and the SEAS Senior Teaching Award. He has published over 200 articles in the areas of Reliability, Risk Assessment, Bayesian Statistics, and System Engineering with an h-index of 38.
