Luyao Lu Faculty Member

The Lu’s research group at The George Washington University (GW) is currently funded by GW, NSF, and NIH. The Lu group aims to design the next-generation soft and biocompatible materials and devices for creating advanced classes of wearable and implantable optoelectronic tools to address various challenges facing our society. The group explores new processing, fabrication, and engineering schemes to enable unprecedented material properties and device performance for basic and translational biological and biomedical research. Dr. Lu has received a number of awards including the 2016 IUPAC-Solvay International Award for Young Chemists. His work has been cited over 6,600 times, and his current h-index is 23. Dr. Lu is the Lead Organizer for Wearable and Flexible Electronic and Photonic Technologies 3 Symposium of the 239th Electrochemical Society Meeting and has served as the panel reviewer for NSF and journal reviewer for over 25 journals such as Nature Communications.
