Leah Elizabeth Masselink Faculty Member

Positions

Dr. Masselink is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy & Management. Before coming to GW, she earned a PhD in Health Policy & Management (Sociology/Organizational Studies Minor) from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at UNC School of Nursing. Her work at UNC included studies of the role of nursing schools and other organizations in nurse migration in the Philippines and a survey of internationally educated nurses in the United States. Dr. Masselink has served as a consultant on projects focusing on health worker engagement, productivity and performance management with the Health Workforce Development team for the USAID Health Care Improvement Project. Her current projects focus on innovative uses of health workers and the effects of health system transformation on healthcare organizations and the healthcare workforce.
