Janis Goodman Short Bio The academic year 2020-2021 I was on sabbatical from the Corcoran College of Art. During that time, I prepared for two solo exhibits. One at the Maine Jewish Museum in Portland, Maine called Forces Forces of Nature, the second solo exhibit at Gallery Neptune & Brown in Washington, DC called Infinite Journey. The exhibit Infinite Journey got a great review with two large reproductions in the Washington Post. https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/museums/art-gallery-shows-dc-area/2022/01/06/3a017e14-6cc3-11ec-a5d2-7712163262f0_story.html The exhibition also published an online catalogue for the exhibition. https-//view.publitas.com/gallery-neptune-brown/janis-goodman-infinite-journey-e- catalogue/page/1 I additionally prepared for a travelling exhibit that would open in January 2022. I received a DC Commission on the Arts Grant for Individual Artists. I taught a course called Abstract painting that was never completed due to Covid. I also taught a fine art fundamentals course in introduction to Painting. The Abstract painting course was very well received. It was mostly seniors and upper classman. The intro to painting class presented more problems as many of the students had difficulty adjusting to in class learning. I worked with the recruitment program in assisting portfolio reviews for admission and interviewing potential students.
