Positions

I have 43 refereed research publications, and several more close to submission, in a wide variety of areas within matroid theory (and some in other parts of combinatorics). I have supervised five Ph.D. dissertations at GW, with one more in the works, along with several undergraduate senior honors theses. I was awarded the Oscar and Shoshana Trachtenberg Teaching Award in 2009, and am a member of the GW Academy of Distinguished Teachers. My recent service has focused on substantially upgrading the advising that math majors receive at GW; during the four years I have been doing advising, the number of majors has gone way up from around 30 to nearly 120 (about half of our majors are double majors, so GW's official statistics on majors, which counts by first major, shows a smaller number; the number fluctuates and is currently around 70).
