Dr. Braun is an Associate Professor at the Center for the Advanced Study of Human Paleobiology in the
Anthropology Department. He is also the co-director of the Koobi Fora Research and Training Project, a
collaboration with the National Museums of Kenya.
Prior to coming to GWU, Dr. Braun was a two-time Fulbright Fellow in Kenya, a Humboldt Fellow of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, a British Academy Fellow at Oxford University, and a Professor of Archaeology at the University of Cape Town.
He has published over 90 peer reviewed articles, which have been cited over 5000 times, as well as three highly cited books. He has a n H-index of 35
In the 15 years since his PhD he has raised over $1,700,000 for his field research in Kenya, Ethiopia, Mozambique and South Africa.
