Service, research and teaching occupied my time from April 1, 2021 - December 31, 2021. In August '20, I took over as Director of Graduate Studies for PSC & I have invested approximately 1/2 my time in this responsibility. In Fall '21, I taught the Dissertation Prospectus Workshop for the 1st time. This demanded weekly commentary on student writing submissions as the course is oriented to accelerating the PhDs progress toward producing a dissertation prospectus. I learned a lot about how to help students advance in their research skills and thought process. In addition, my research occupies me at all times. I delivered a paper at the Georgetown Political Theory Lecture Series in April 2021 so this galvanized me to make major headway on the argument of the Arendt chapter, which I then also rewrote all of Fall'21 in preparation for presenting it at a conference in January 2022. The winter holiday was also occupied with PhD admissions activities and selection. It was my first time organizing the PhD admission process b/c we didn't hold admissions in Fall '20 due to Covid.
