Research
My recent work hyper-recursive trees has been accepted for publication in the prestigious peer reviewed journal named Journal of Applied Probability. This is a joint work with Prof. Hosam Mahmoud and my PhD student Joshua Sparks, whom I am co-advising with Prof. Mahmoud. We are working on related problems and expect to get more results in the near future.
I am continuing my work on the diffusion limits for Markov chains that are related to Polya urn models. We already have results in the case of Ehrenfest process and trying to expand to other models.
Teaching
I continue to teach a large undergraduate introductory Statistics course with a class size of 150+ students. This is in addition to an upper undergraduate course (or a graduate course) every semester.
In some semesters, I teach a reading and research course in addition to the regular workload. This would cater to students with an interest in special topics such as Statistical and Mathematical Finance.
Service
I continue to serve as the undergraduate director of the Statistics
department.
