Positions

This year I have tried to make a significant impact on the nationwide treatment of CHF. Working with the ACP and ACC to raise awareness of new treatment in the field that are underutilized. I have also been chosen as the ACP representative of Internal Medicine to make sure that guidelines can be understood and followed by internal medicine providers. 2. Work with house staff and students to provide mentors for research projects and publications. Last year 15 out of 15 of our 3rd year residents applying for fellowship received one including 9 in GI and 4 in Cardiology; highly competitive fields. 3. Initiated a Grand Rounds program on Diversity and Inclusion. 4. Many hours this past year spent on Covid-19 planning and surge preparation. Developed a surge backup plan utilizing 52 of our non-hospitalist faculty to be called in as needed. Used 10 through the first week of June. Equal amount of time spent in training house staff and faculty which resulted in only 2 faculty (one at UMC) becoming Covid+. 5. Mentoring resulted in 9 promotions this year with 3 Emeritus Faculty, 4 Professors and 5 Associate Professors one with tenure.
