Aman Luthra Faculty Member

Aman Luthra is an environmental and an economic geographer. Most of his research has focused on precarious livelihoods in the informal economy of waste and recycling in urban India. In addition to continuing this research, Aman is currently in the process of starting a new project that examines the relationships between farmers and pollinators in an apple growing region of the Western Himalayas using citizen science tools and action research methodologies. Aman completed his Ph.D. in 2015 at the Johns Hopkins University. Prior to joining GWU, he worked in the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at Kalamazoo College from 2016 to 2020.
