Adam Ciarleglio Faculty Member

Positions

Dr. Adam Ciarleglio received his BA in mathematics from Vanderbilt University, MS in mathematics from Fairfield University, and PhD in biostatistics from Columbia University in 2013. Prior to joining GWU, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the New York University School of Medicine and was an Assistant Professor of Clinical Biostatistics at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. His current methodological research focuses on bringing together the fields of machine learning, functional data analysis, and treatment regime estimation to develop tools for understanding heterogeneous effects of treatment using high-dimensional data. He is interested in using these tools to help collaborators understand what patient characteristics (e.g., clinical, demographic, neuroimaging measures) influence the effect of antidepressant treatment. He is also interested in clinical trials, statistical computing, and statistics education. Dr. Ciarleglio has served as a statistician on projects in several areas of mental health research including depression, schizophrenia, substance abuse, and cognitive decline.
